Tonight Com.It.Es South Australia community engagement sub-committee met to finalise and coordinate some of the projects for the remainder of the year.

It was decided that Com.It.Es SA will;

  1. host again a “New-Arrivals Seminar” mainly focussed at the new changes to the 457 visa which will take place in August, with dates soon to be confirmed,
  2. co-ordinate and facilitate the creation of a certified English course for new-arrival Italians to assist with their IELTS qualification,
  3. appoint a regional representative for Com.It.Es in the Mt Gambier region to allow for a flow of information from rural Italians and Com.It.Es, and
  4. co-ordinate another regional visit to Pt Pirie/RIverland to engage with the Italian community.

The second part of the meeting was with Co.As.It President Gilda Campbell whom met with us to inform us on the role of Co.As.It SA and their current work within the welfare sector of the Italian-Australian community. We thank Gilda for her visit tonight and her committee for the wonderful work they do for the aging community. We wish Co.As.It all the very best in their future endeavours!
