Com.It.Es South Australia hosted our annual prayer service for Italy’s Festa della Liberazione on Wednesday 25th April in front nearly 300 people at the Chapel of the Holy Family. In our biggest event to date we were proud to again hold this service to remember those who fought for Italy’s liberation from Nazi and Fascist rule during WWII.

It is also important, that we must also acknowledge that this day for Italians is equally important for Australians as it is also Anzac Day. We must remember those who fought for Australia and keep this country safe which allowed many Italians who now call Australia home to live in a peaceful and safe country.

We wish to thank all of those who attended that made the day special, including our special guests the Hon John Gardner MP (representing the Premier Mr Steven Marshall MP), Mr Vincent Tarzia MP, the Hon Frank Pangallo MLC, Mr Lee Odenwalder MP (representing the leader of the opposition Mr Peter Malinauskas), Ms Frances Bedford MP, Mr Tony Zappia MP, Mr Robert Bria Mayor of Norwood, St Peters and Payneham, and Mr Dario Deste President of Fincantieri Australia.

Viva l’Italia e Viva l’Australia!
